Meet the Artist

I am Nelson Gomes, a Portuguese contemporary artist creating original art since 1999.

Through painting, ceramics and mixed media, I explore texture, emotion and individuality, creating pieces designed to bring character and identity to every space.

Atelier Nelson Gomes is also a family-run studio. I work alongside my wife, who specialises in ceramics and plays an essential role in the creation of many of our pieces.

Together, we combine our skills, experience and creative vision to produce distinctive artworks, carefully handcrafted in our atelier in Portugal.

We prioritise local and European suppliers, reuse and recycle materials whenever possible, and carefully plan our production to minimise waste.
